Please take a look at the Ask the Dog Guy section for some insight into how we believe we can affect change in a dog.
Welcome, fellow pooch lovers

Today, a dog’s job is much different than it was in years past. And many (most?) people do not realize this fact.
In times past, the family dog(s) was not a pet. He had a job to do. He/she might have kept the family safe. He/she might have herded the flocks. He/she might have hunted varmints. In any case, he/she knew his/her job and did it.
That is my background. I grew up working on a sheep ranch with 50,000 sheep and a lot of dogs! Mostly the dogs trained each other, but occasionally the human hand was needed. Most of the ranch hands were of Basque descent, and therefore most of the dogs learned in Basque. I didn’t speak Basque. So we used whistles and arm movements.
Today, dogs have taken on a different role. They are pets. They no longer, for the most part, have jobs to do. Yet they retain their instincts to do a job. This is confusing to them. And a confused dog can be a problem dog to a family busy with kids, soccer practices, long work hours and the like.
And all too often, the result is the dog(s) ending up in a shelter where his/her time is limited by the sheer space available.
This is where I come in. I am certified by the Animal Behavior College in canine obedience. I love and respect dogs and training them to be good dogs is what I do.
