When I say dog walker, what undoubtedly comes to mind is a picture of a person in an urban environment with a half dozen or more dogs, often poodles or other similar breeds, making his/her way down a street, poop bags at the ready.

A private walk would generally entail about 30 minutes with a walker and a pooch walking a neighborhood or a trail nearby. A group walk is a pack activity and is generally about twice that long with about half of it off leash in a dog park or other safe area.

Walking is a necessity for most dogs. All dogs, regardless of breed or size need to be walked. fish swim, birds fly, dogs walk. Instinctively dogs are walkers. They get up in the morning and they walk. To keep you pet dog mentally and physically stable, he/she should be walked daily. It also keeps them physically healthy and is often recommended by the family veterinarian.
Just having a dog unteathered in the backyard does not equate to walking. To your dog, the backyard is a fishbowl.
Private walks are fine, but dogs are pack animals and will enjoy the pack atmosphere. They will adapt to the other dogs rapidly and enjoy the camaraderie of running and playing in a pack.
Pearson’s Professional Pet Services will carefully build the pack, always striving to keep the dogs roughly equal in size and strength. And our walker will abide by the pack rules and be the leader. The dogs themselves will figure out who is the dog leader. (The walker will be the alpha).
