• PPPS (Pearson's Professional Pet Service) shall exhibit courtesy and professionalism in all dealings with customers, staff and industry colleagues to positively represent the Dog Training and the Pet-Sitting/Dog Walking industry.
• PPPS is bonded and insured.*
• PPPS will provide references upon request.
• PPPS will visit the client's home before the first assignment to meet the pets and get detailed information about their care and your needs.
• PPPS shall display a positive attitude during the initial meeting and will be comfortable and competent in dealing with the animals.
• PPPS is courteous, interested and well informed.
• PPPS will provide literature and/or a website that describes services and communicates fees openly and honestly.
• PPPS will provide a service contract that specifies services, fees and time allocated per visit. This will be delivered to the client prior to the service being rendered.
• PPPS is desirous to learn as much as possible about the animals in our care.
• PPPS has adequate knowledge and experience in caring for pets and is clearly mindful of their safety and well-being.
• PPPS will take precautions to make sure a client's absence from home is not detectable because of any careless actions or disclosures by the sitter.
• PPPS will phone to confirm or have the client phone to confirm that the client has returned home.
• PPPS will provide a service rating/evaluation form for clients.
• PPPS will conduct business with honesty and integrity and will observe all federal, state and local laws pertaining to business operations and animal care.
• PPPS keeps regular office hours and responds to client inquiries and complaints promptly.
• PPPS will have knowledge of a veterinarian for emergency service. Ideally it will be a veterinarian approved by and contact information provided by the client.
• PPPS will have a contingency plan for pet care in case of inclement weather or personal illness.
• PPPS refrains from criticizing competitors.
• PPPS screens applicants for independent contractor employment carefully and demands each contractor undergo a criminal background check.
• PPPS provides initial and ongoing training for its sitters.

* A special loss insurance rider is better than bonding and PPPS has obtained it for all personnel.
